In celebration of the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (2 September), and in anticipation of the 65th anniversary of the Company’s commencement of production (24 June 1962 – 24 June 2027), the opening ceremony of the Traditional LACHEMCO CUP 65th Anniversary Sports Tournament, themed “Uniting Strength – Connecting Success”, took place on the afternoon of 19 August 2026 at the Supe Sports Hall, organised by Lam Thao Superphosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company.

The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Nguyễn Huy Thông, Chairman of the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union, along with representatives of the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union; Mr. Nguyễn Kim Tứ, Deputy Secretary of the Lam Thao Commune Party Committee, together with local leaders; and a delegation of officials, lecturers, and trainees from the journalism professional training course.

Representing Lam Thao Superphosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company were Mr. Phạm Thanh Tùng, Party Secretary and General Director; company leaders; representatives of mass organisations; heads of units; and a large number of athletes and supporters.

More Than 400 Athletes Take Part

The LACHEMCO CUP 65th Anniversary Tournament runs from 19 August to 20 October 2026, with 12 teams representing company units and the Supe Retirees Club.

Athletes are competing in five sports: men’s football, men’s and women’s soft volleyball, table tennis, badminton, and pickleball, with a total of 20 events.

This year, the tournament has attracted over 400 athlete registrations—the highest to date. This demonstrates the strong sporting spirit among the company’s staff and workers, creating a lively atmosphere in the run-up to the 65th anniversary of the company’s production launch.

To prepare for the event, all units actively formed teams, organised training, selected participants, and arranged schedules to ensure that tournament participation did not affect production or business activities.

A Platform for Employee Unity

Beyond promoting physical fitness, the Traditional LACHEMCO CUP Sports Tournament is an opportunity for staff and workers from different units to socialise, network, strengthen bonds, and foster a spirit of unity within the company.

Maintaining this traditional tournament also contributes to a vibrant, competitive atmosphere among employees, in the lead-up to major political events and company milestones.

At the opening ceremony, the Organising Committee called on all teams and athletes to strictly observe the tournament regulations, compete honestly, in a spirit of solidarity and sportsmanship; and requested referees to officiate impartially and accurately, ensuring safety throughout the competition.

Units are encouraged to facilitate full participation by athletes, while also proactively managing work to ensure smooth continuation of production and business operations.

With careful preparation and the highest number of participants ever, the LACHEMCO CUP 65th Anniversary Tournament is expected to feature exciting and engaging matches, helping to spread the spirit of unity and physical training across the company.
