On 13th July in Cần Thơ City, the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union convened a conference to review activities from the first six months of the year, set out tasks for the second half of 2026, and summarise trade union financial management and social welfare activities for 2025.

The conference was attended by Mr. Lê An Hải, Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and President of the Vietnam National Union of Workers in Industry and Trade; Mr. Nguyễn Văn Quý, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam National Chemical Group; Mr. Lê Hoàng, Deputy General Director of the Vietnam National Chemical Group; Mr. Nguyễn Huy Thông, President of the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union; as well as presidents of affiliated trade unions and financial officers from member units.

According to the report, in the first half of 2026, trade union activities closely aligned with the Group’s political objectives and the directives of the Vietnam National Union of Workers in Industry and Trade. Despite challenges arising from fluctuations in the global economy, and in raw materials and energy markets, most of the Group’s subsidiaries maintained positive growth. Actual production value was estimated at VND 35,317 billion, representing 55.6% of the annual plan; consolidated revenue reached VND 39,911 billion, 56.2% of the plan; consolidated profit was approximately VND 3,170 billion, exceeding the target. The average monthly income per employee was nearly VND 17 million.

Alongside its coordination with business operations, the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union continued to fulfil its core function of representing, caring for, and protecting the lawful rights and interests of employees. Trade unions at all levels successfully organised labour conferences at 100% of units; effectively implemented welfare activities for Lunar New Year, Workers’ Month, and the Action Month for Occupational Safety and Health.

During the Tet holiday and Workers’ Month 2026, thousands of union members and workers facing difficulties, workplace accidents, occupational diseases, or with children in need, received support from the Group’s and the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union’s Social Welfare Funds. Practical programmes—including the “Chemical Shelter” housing initiative, convalescence support for workers, provision of meal equipment, VinachemMart shopping vouchers, and travel subsidies—were maintained, contributing to the material and spiritual wellbeing of union members and workers.

Furthermore, emulation movements for skilled and creative labour, cultural and sporting activities, occupational safety campaigns, women’s affairs, membership development, and charitable work continued to thrive. In just six months, the Group’s Social Welfare Fund approved over VND 6 billion for social welfare initiatives; industry-wide, nearly VND 12 billion was spent on social and charitable programmes, confirming Vinachem’s social responsibility to the community.

Ms. Đào Thị Phương Loan, Chief Accountant of the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union, presented the financial report for 2025.

According to the report, in 2025, trade union financial management was carried out in accordance with regulations, ensuring transparency and a focus on the grassroots. Despite reductions in union dues and operational difficulties affecting revenue, trade unions at all levels managed and utilised resources effectively to support union members and workers.

Funds were prioritised for supporting members in hardship, promoting emulation programmes, and providing training for trade union officials. Financial supervision and audits were stepped up. The report also highlighted some shortcomings—such as delayed finalisation of accounts in some units and slow data updates on financial software—requiring continued improvement in 2026.

Conference participants engaged in lively discussion, sharing experiences in union activities, financial management, and worker welfare at grassroots level, and proposed solutions to further improve trade union performance.

In his address, Mr. Lê An Hải acknowledged and praised the achievements of the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union in the first half of 2026, as well as efforts in financial and social welfare work in 2025. He called for continued innovation in content and methods, greater digital transformation in trade union management and finance, and a stronger role in representing, caring for, and protecting workers’ interests, to help enterprises overcome challenges and fulfil business objectives.

Mr. Nguyễn Văn Quý highlighted the important role of trade unions in fostering unity and building harmonious, stable, and progressive labour relations within enterprises. He urged all levels of the union to work closely with the Party and management to effectively implement emulation movements and contribute to the Group’s goals.

On behalf of the Standing Committee, Mr. Nguyễn Huy Thông affirmed the union’s commitment to focusing on key tasks for the latter half of 2026, intensifying patriotic emulation movements, further improving workers’ welfare, enhancing financial management, ensuring effective social welfare, and building an ever-stronger trade union organisation.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union commended and rewarded groups and individuals with outstanding achievements in trade union finance and social welfare for 2025, highlighting exemplary models and inspiring further efforts in the time ahead.
