Comrade Nguyễn Hữu Tú Attends Government Steering Committee Meeting on Science and Technology Development, Innovation, and Digital Transformation

On the afternoon of June 23, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng, Head of the Government Steering Committee on Science and Technology Development, Innovation, Digital Transformation, and Project 06, chaired a special session focused on promoting science and technology development and innovation. The meeting was conducted in person at the Government Headquarters and connected online with provinces and cities nationwide.

The session was attended by Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Phạm Gia Túc, Standing Vice Head of the Steering Committee; Deputy Prime Minister Hồ Quốc Dũng, Vice Head of the Steering Committee; as well as leaders from ministries, sectors, and localities who are members of the Steering Committee.

Comrade Nguyễn Hữu Tú – General Director of the Group – attended the meeting in person at the main hall of the Government Headquarters.

In his opening remarks, Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng stated that the main agenda was to discuss solutions to promote the development of core technologies, strategic products, and strategic technologies, aiming to complete the overall architecture of the national digital framework. This is identified as an important foundation to ensure consistency and synchronization in the implementation of digital transformation from central to local levels.

The Prime Minister emphasized the need to continue improving and effectively utilizing database systems to support the leadership, direction, and administration work of the Government, ministries, sectors, and localities; while also enhancing the quality of online public service delivery for citizens and businesses.

Additionally, the Prime Minister called for addressing difficulties and obstacles regarding mechanisms and policies, especially financial mechanisms for science and technology and innovation activities; shortening the time from research to application and commercialization of products. Localities are encouraged to identify potential fields and advantages to develop appropriate lists of strategic products, ensuring investment efficiency.

The Prime Minister also requested strengthening solutions to improve the management, exploitation, and sharing of research and laboratory infrastructure; encouraging enterprises to invest in and operate research, testing, and technology commercialization centers to create further momentum for socio-economic development.

At the meeting, leaders of ministries, sectors, and localities discussed various topics related to science and technology development, innovation, and digital transformation, including building a national technology transfer network; developing new energy and renewable energy technology ecosystems; applying green building materials; building a national digital tourism data ecosystem; developing data and digital technology platforms for precision and circular agriculture; and establishing research and production ecosystems for high-tech medicines and vaccines.

Delegates also shared experiences and proposed solutions for the application of artificial intelligence (AI), big data, biotechnology, and other emerging technologies in the development of tourism, logistics, high-tech agriculture, renewable energy, and supporting the growth of technology enterprises, thereby contributing to economic growth and enhancing competitiveness in the coming period.
