On 11th September 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City, the Party Committee of Cho Quan Ward, Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem), and The Southern Rubber Industry Joint Stock Company (Casumina) held a ceremony to announce the appointment of a new General Director and the designation of the Party Secretary for the company.

In attendance were Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Members’ Council of Vinachem; Mr. Nguyễn Văn Quý, Standing Deputy Party Secretary of the Group; Mr. Cao Sơn Yên, Party Secretary and Chairman of the People’s Council of Cho Quan Ward; together with leaders from the Group, member units, and key personnel of Casumina.

During the ceremony, Casumina announced Decision No. 68/2026/QĐ-HĐQT dated 26th August 2026 of the Board of Directors, appointing Mr. Phùng Quang Trung as General Director of the company.

Simultaneously, the Party Committee of Cho Quan Ward announced the decision designating Mr. Phùng Quang Trung as a member of the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, and Party Secretary of Casumina for the 2025–2030 term.

Focus on Enhancing Competitiveness and Business Efficiency

In his address, Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp congratulated Mr. Phùng Quang Trung on being entrusted by the Group as General Director of Casumina, and acknowledged the contributions of Mr. Nguyễn Đình Khoát during his tenure as General Director.

Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp requested that, in his new position, Mr. Phùng Quang Trung focus on strengthening Casumina’s competitiveness, exercising strict control over costs and product quality, reducing defect rates, thus lowering expenses and improving business efficiency. The company should foster learning and experience sharing with other units in the Group, especially in management, production organisation, and market development, while making the most of its own strengths.

Regarding products, he emphasised the need for Casumina to pay particular attention to product quality and to develop new products tailored to actual market demand. New product development must be combined with assessment of marketability, customer identification, competition, and economic efficiency.

The company should proactively expand both B2B and B2C markets, intensify engagement with major customers, automotive and tyre manufacturers, and large partners, ensuring quality, price, and supply capability.

For the market, Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp highlighted the need to develop both domestic and export markets in parallel, with special emphasis on exploiting domestic market potential. The company must build an effective business and distribution system; develop a professional sales team; and learn from management and sales models and software used by other Group units. Where necessary, the company should establish appropriate mechanisms to attract experienced sales and market development professionals.

Another key task stressed by Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp is to maintain and strengthen unity within the company. He noted that enterprise development must be built on trust between the management and employees, and among all members of the organisation.

With over 50 years of development, Casumina has a valuable tradition, culture, and experience, contributed by successive generations of staff. These values must continue to be preserved and promoted, with unity placed above all.

Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp affirmed that Vinachem will always stand with its member units, ensuring that no unit operates in isolation. Units, especially in the South, should intensify support and experience sharing, developing together within the Vinachem family.

For Casumina, he urged the management to continue improving incomes and welfare, motivating employees to remain committed and contribute long-term.

He expressed confidence that with its long-standing tradition, experienced and responsible staff, and the support and guidance of Vinachem, Casumina will continue to overcome difficulties, develop steadily, improve business efficiency, and achieve its set objectives.

Mr. Phùng Quang Trung’s Commitment to Leading Casumina’s Development

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Phùng Quang Trung expressed his honour and gratitude for the trust placed in him by Vinachem’s leadership and Casumina’s Board of Directors.

Transferred from Ninh Binh Phosphate Fertilizer Joint Stock Company to Casumina by Group leadership, Mr. Phùng Quang Trung acknowledged the company’s over 50-year heritage, built on solid foundations by successive generations of staff.

In his new role, he pledged to earnestly implement the guidance of Vinachem’s leadership and the Board; and together with the leadership team, Party Committee, staff, and workforce, to foster unity, maintain discipline, focus on improving business efficiency, ensure safe operations, and optimise material usage and costs.

The company will enhance market forecasting capability, diversify raw material supply, proactively manage production, improve the quality of existing products, and research and develop new, high-value products, including technical rubber.

Additionally, Mr. Phùng Quang Trung highlighted the tasks of strengthening the domestic distribution system, expanding into potential export markets, raising product and service quality, and continuing to strengthen the Casumina brand internationally.

The company will exercise strict cost control, optimise productivity, use capital effectively, accelerate key investment projects, modernise technology and equipment, and promote digital transformation in corporate management.

He especially affirmed the importance of listening, understanding, and building consensus within the team; caring for the material and spiritual wellbeing of employees; and fostering a corporate culture where every member is proud to contribute to the Casumina family.

With the view that “One swallow does not make a spring,” Mr. Phùng Quang Trung expressed his hope for continued guidance and support from Vinachem’s leadership, the Party Committee of Cho Quan Ward, the Board of Directors, and the cooperation and trust of management and employees at the company.

He sincerely thanked the Party Committee of Cho Quan Ward for their support and was confident that, with unity and collective effort, Casumina will overcome challenges, seize opportunities, and achieve new milestones.

During the ceremony, Casumina took time to express gratitude to Mr. Nguyễn Đình Khoát, former Party Secretary and General Director.

On behalf of the company’s leadership, Mr. Bùi Văn Thắng acknowledged Mr. Nguyễn Đình Khoát’s contributions in his leadership roles at Casumina, and wished him success in his new position.

In response, Mr. Nguyễn Đình Khoát thanked Vinachem’s leadership, the Board, and all staff for their support during his time at Casumina, and wished the company continued stable and sustainable development.

The concurrent appointment of Party Secretary and General Director at The Southern Rubber Industry Joint Stock Company is a key step in strengthening personnel, laying the groundwork for Casumina to further its traditions, enhance management capacity, competitiveness, and business efficiency, and work towards stable and sustainable development in the new era.
