Vinachem Attends the Central Steering Committee 57 Session
On the afternoon of 28 September, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng, Head of the Central Steering Committee for the Development of Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation (Steering Committee 57), chaired a special session on science, technology, innovation and digital transformation, focusing on their contributions to socio-economic development and reviewing outcomes for the third quarter of 2026.
The session was held in person at the Government Headquarters, with online connections to provinces and cities nationwide. The session was attended by senior leaders of the Party and State; leaders of ministries, central and local agencies; members of the Steering Committee; representatives of research institutes, universities, corporations, enterprises, commercial banks as well as experts and scientists.
Representing the Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem), Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Tú, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Member of the Members’ Council, and General Director of the Group, attended the session.
In his opening remarks, Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng emphasised that the session aimed to assess the specific contributions of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation to achieving the goals of renewing the growth model, especially the target of double-digit growth. It also sought to identify tasks and solutions so these fields could make increasingly concrete, practical and effective contributions.
The Prime Minister stressed that 2026 is the first year implementing the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress, aiming for growth of 10% or more. In this context, improving productivity is a key requirement to drive high, sustained and sustainable growth; science, technology, innovation and digital transformation must become the principal, direct driving forces, helping to raise productivity and the competitiveness of the economy.
During the session, delegates focused on discussing research capacity, mastery, application and commercialisation of technology; the central role of enterprises; enhancing linkages between research institutes, universities and enterprises; development of data, digital infrastructure, digital platforms, the digital economy, digital society and digital industry.
Participants also reviewed the implementation status of tasks assigned by the Steering Committee in the third quarter of 2026, progress of the 100-day Action Plan on digital transformation, as well as challenges, difficulties, and priority tasks for the fourth quarter of 2026 and the coming period.
The participation of General Director Nguyễn Hữu Tú as Vinachem’s representative at the session helped update the Group on key policies, orientations and priorities regarding science, technology, innovation and digital transformation, thereby supporting leadership, direction and the implementation of Vinachem’s upcoming tasks.
