Vinachem Chairman attends Vietnam–Laos investment promotion and business dialogue conference
As part of the official visit to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic by Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng, on the afternoon of 8 October 2026 in Vientiane, Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp – Party Secretary and Chairman of the Members’ Council of the Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem) – attended and delivered remarks at the Vietnam–Laos Investment Promotion and Business Dialogue Conference, affirming the Group’s determination to implement key investment projects and further economic cooperation between the two countries.

The conference was a significant activity within the framework of the official visit of Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng and the high-level Vietnamese delegation from 8–9 October 2026, attended by representatives of state management agencies, organisations, and business communities from both countries. It provided a forum for agencies and enterprises from Vietnam and Laos to discuss the investment environment, strengthen links, resolve obstacles, and promote cooperation projects, thereby deepening the special friendship, solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations.
In his speech, Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp expressed gratitude for the attention, guidance, and support of the governments, ministries, and authorities of both Vietnam and Laos for Vinachem’s investment and cooperation activities, especially the Potash Salt Mining and Processing Project in Nongbok district, Khammouane province.

The Vinachem Chairman emphasised that the Potash Salt Mining and Processing Project in Laos is a strategic, key project in the Group’s development orientation. Successful implementation will not only enhance production capacity and secure raw materials for the chemical and fertiliser industries, but also play an important role in realising economic cooperation agreements between Vietnam and Laos.
In recent times, Vinachem has focused resources and worked closely with Lao authorities to complete necessary procedures and gradually overcome difficulties in the investment preparation process.
To facilitate project implementation in the coming period, the Vinachem Chairman requested that the Lao Government and competent authorities continue to give attention and support, accelerate the completion of related procedures, and address any outstanding issues regarding mechanisms and policies, allowing the project to move promptly to the next implementation phase.
Vinachem reaffirmed its commitment to proactively coordinate with Lao authorities and partners, concentrate resources, and ensure project implementation in compliance with the law, aiming for timely progress, quality, and investment effectiveness.

Alongside investment activities, Vinachem’s trade cooperation with Lao enterprises continues to be maintained and expanded. In recent years, import–export turnover between the Group and Lao businesses has been estimated at around 70 million USD annually. Vinachem has also signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Phongsavanh Group and actively participated in trade promotion, product introduction, and marketing activities in the Lao market.
These efforts demonstrate Vinachem’s orientation towards expanding international cooperation, leveraging the strengths of the chemical industry, enhancing trade and investment links, and effectively harnessing the cooperation potential between enterprises of the two countries.
Through the conference, Vinachem’s leadership affirmed that the Group always regards Laos as a key partner and expressed the wish to continue receiving the support and companionship of the governments, ministries, and business communities of both countries.
With a determination to accelerate the progress of key projects and expand cooperation in investment and trade, Vinachem aims to fulfil its role as a state-owned enterprise in implementing international economic cooperation orientations, making a practical contribution to sustainable development and the special cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Laos.
