Vinachem Exchanges with Yokogawa Vietnam on Digital Transformation and Operational Optimisation Solutions

03:20 PM @ Thursday - 01 October, 2026

On the morning of 1 October 2026 in Hanoi, the Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem) held a meeting with Yokogawa Vietnam LLC to discuss solutions for digital transformation and operational optimisation in the industrial sector. The meeting was connected online with LIX Joint Stock Company (LIXCO) and The Southern Rubber Industry Joint Stock Company (Casumina).

Mr. Đào Trọng Cường, Deputy General Director of the Group, chaired the session. Attending at Vinachem’s headquarters were representatives from the specialised departments, the Centre for Chemical Science and Technology Information, and the leadership of Ceco Company. Online participants included leaders from LIXCO and Casumina.

Representing Yokogawa Vietnam LLC was Mr. Kenichi Takeda, General Director, along with technical specialists.

During the meeting, Yokogawa presented a comprehensive approach to digital transformation and enhancing operational efficiency in the chemical industry, from building safe and reliable plant foundations, monitoring and control, production management, and data consolidation, to business planning and logistics. The solutions aim to connect operational technology (OT) with information technology (IT), gradually establishing a data-driven management and operational environment.

Yokogawa introduced groups of solutions for control and safety systems (DCS, SIS), asset management and predictive maintenance, quality management, process optimisation, manufacturing execution systems (MES), energy and carbon emissions management, OT-IT cybersecurity, supply chain and logistics management.

Notably, the Digital Twin and process optimisation solutions support improvements in productivity, efficiency, energy savings, and real-time operational optimisation. The OpreX Intelligent Manufacturing Hub platform enables the integration of data from DCS, MES, ERP, laboratories, and other sources, creating a unified data repository for analysis, automation, and information provision at various management levels.

Yokogawa also showcased solutions for energy management, emissions reduction, and utility optimisation, as well as supporting businesses to be ready for advanced data modelling—from use case identification and data preparation to model development and deployment in management and operations. Occupational safety and cybersecurity are also integrated into the solution suite.

Based on the presentations, participants discussed the potential for applying suitable technological solutions tailored to the specific production and business activities of Vinachem and its member units. The implementation of digital transformation was considered in relation to improving operational efficiency, increasing equipment reliability, reducing energy costs, standardising operations, strengthening data management, and gradually preparing for advanced data-driven applications.

In his remarks, Deputy General Director Đào Trọng Cường expressed his appreciation to Yokogawa Vietnam LLC, in particular to Mr. Kenichi Takeda, General Director, and the delegation for meeting with the Group.

Deputy General Director Đào Trọng Cường highly valued the content presented by Yokogawa, especially the approach and solutions relating to digital transformation and operational optimisation, noting their practical relevance to improving the performance of the Group’s units.

Regarding implementation, he proposed that both parties initially coordinate a site survey at a selected unit to assess feasibility and trial solutions. Based on implementation results, if the solutions prove effective and suitable, the Group will consider replicating the model at other units.

The Deputy General Director stressed that implementation should be based on cooperation, shared commitment, and a focus on practical results; both parties should continue discussions to agree on cooperation methods and benefit-sharing mechanisms. In the investment phase, all matters should be calculated specifically, based on the effectiveness and potential cost savings for the Group.

For organisation and implementation, the Deputy General Director stated that the Technical Department would act as the focal point in coordinating with Yokogawa, connecting relevant units, and carrying out subsequent steps.

He expressed his hope that the meeting would open up practical cooperation opportunities between the two sides, and that Yokogawa’s solutions, when deployed at the Group, would suit the operating conditions, production organisation, and actual activities of each unit, thereby enhancing operational effectiveness and laying the foundation for an increasingly close and effective partnership between Yokogawa and the Vietnam National Chemical Group.
