To mark the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (27 July 1947 – 27 July 2026), on 23rd July, a delegation from Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem) led by Mr. Lê Hoàng, Member of the Party Standing Committee and Deputy General Director, visited and presented gifts to war invalids and sick soldiers at the Phu Tho Centre for People with Meritorious Service.

The delegation included Mr. Nguyễn Huy Thông, Member of the Party Standing Committee, President of the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union, President of the Group’s Veterans Association, and Mr. Đào Văn Đức, Deputy Secretary of the Group’s Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

The Phu Tho Centre for People with Meritorious Service, established in 1976, is a public institution under the Provincial Department of Home Affairs. The centre is currently caring for, treating, and supporting 28 seriously and critically ill war invalids and sick soldiers with a working capacity reduction of 81% or more; it also organises convalescence and rehabilitation for over 1,000 people with meritorious service to the revolution in Phu Tho each year.

Most of the war invalids and sick soldiers at the centre are elderly and in poor health, frequently requiring treatment at central hospitals. The centre’s staff are always on hand, providing dedicated care, timely medical assistance, and contributing to improved health and quality of life for those who have contributed to the nation.

At the meeting, on behalf of the Group’s leadership, Mr. Lê Hoàng expressed warm regards, gratitude, and deep appreciation to the war invalids and sick soldiers—those who devoted their youth and sacrificed part of themselves for national liberation and defence.

Sharing at the event, Mr. Lê Hoàng noted this was his fourth visit to the centre. Each time brings special feelings: both familiarity and emotion. He reflected that, over time, many invalids and sick soldiers have grown older and more frail, some have passed away, and the centre continues to take in new cases. This, he said, serves as a reminder for all today’s staff and workers to continue the tradition of “Repaying those who showed gratitude”, and to care even more for those who have served the revolution.

Mr. Lê Hoàng also emphasised that millions of martyrs, hundreds of thousands of war invalids, and those who have contributed nationwide are living proof of the immense losses and sacrifices of the nation. These sacrifices remind today’s generations always to remember and honour those who have fallen and those who have given a part of themselves for the country’s independence and freedom.

On this occasion, on behalf of Vinachem’s leaders and employees, Mr. Lê Hoàng presented meaningful gifts to the centre and to the war invalids and sick soldiers there, conveying the deep gratitude and respect of the Group’s staff for those who served the revolution.

He also expressed thanks to the leadership, staff, and workers of the Phu Tho Centre for People with Meritorious Service for their dedication in caring for, treating, and rehabilitating war invalids and sick soldiers, effectively implementing the Party and State’s preferential policies for those who have contributed.

On behalf of the centre’s staff and the war invalids and sick soldiers in convalescence, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Thịnh, Director of the Phu Tho Centre for People with Meritorious Service, sincerely thanked Vinachem’s leaders and staff for their care and encouragement. He affirmed that these gifts and the Group’s sincere concern are not only material support but also a great source of motivation for the centre to continue fulfilling its mission to care for, treat, and support those who have served the revolution.

The activity of visiting and presenting gifts on War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day is an annual tradition for Vinachem, reflecting social responsibility, the principle of “When drinking water, remember its source”, and a tradition of gratitude for those who have contributed and sacrificed for the nation. This cultural value, cherished and upheld by Vinachem’s staff over many years, helps to spread profound humanitarian values throughout the community.
