On the afternoon of June 26, 2026, at the headquarters of the Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem), Mr. Nguyễn Văn Luyện, Deputy General Director, chaired a working session with a delegation from Hayleys Aventura (Sri Lanka) to discuss and seek cooperation opportunities in the field of chemicals and industrial materials.

The Sri Lankan delegation included H.E. Poshitha Perera, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Vietnam; Mr. Wasaba Jayasekera, Executive Director of Hayleys Aventura; and other delegation members.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Luyện provided a brief overview of Vinachem’s formation and development as a core enterprise in Vietnam’s chemical industry, operating across manufacturing, business, trade, and services.

Vinachem’s product portfolio ranges from fertilizers, basic chemicals, consumer chemicals, technical rubber, batteries, and accumulators to a variety of products serving industries and daily life.

In the fertilizer sector, beyond traditional product lines, Vinachem has researched and developed many specialty products tailored to different soil types, conditions, and crops. Currently, the Group’s fertilizer market share accounts for 40–42% of domestic demand, and its fertilizers are exported to many countries and territories. Overall, Vinachem’s products are present in 70 countries and territories worldwide.

Deputy General Director Nguyễn Văn Luyện expressed his wish that, through this meeting, both sides would better understand each other's capacities, strengths, and needs, thereby identifying appropriate areas of cooperation, expanding markets, and strengthening connections between Vietnamese and Sri Lankan businesses.

Ambassador Poshitha Perera stated that, to promote economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and Sri Lanka, the Sri Lankan Embassy in Vietnam had proactively connected Hayleys Aventura with Vinachem. According to the Ambassador, Hayleys is one of Sri Lanka’s largest and most reputable conglomerates, with an extensive international network. Connecting businesses from both countries will expand cooperation opportunities and further strengthen bilateral economic relations.

A representative of Hayleys Aventura provided an overview of Hayleys PLC—a group established in 1878, now operating in over 86 countries, with revenue for the 2024–2025 fiscal year reaching about 1.8 billion USD. Hayleys Aventura’s industrial materials business focuses on areas such as polymer chemicals, ingredients for the food and animal feed industries, paint and coating chemicals, textiles, colorants, materials for healthcare and cosmetics, and many other industrial sectors. The company has an extensive international partner network and is looking to expand cooperation in Asia, including Vietnam.

In an open and constructive atmosphere, the two sides discussed production capabilities, product portfolios, market needs, and development directions. Vinachem expressed its desire to expand export markets and strengthen connections with partners experienced in distribution and market development in Sri Lanka and South Asia. Hayleys Aventura highly valued Vinachem’s production capacity and diversified products, noting that with its distribution network, logistics system, and representative offices in many countries, Hayleys could serve as a bridge to help Vinachem’s products access Sri Lanka and regional markets. The two sides also discussed opportunities for cooperation in supplying industrial materials, specialty chemicals, fertilizers, cosmetics, and products serving production, based on each party’s strengths.

At the end of the meeting, the leaders of Vinachem and Hayleys Aventura spoke highly of the cooperation potential between the two sides and agreed to maintain information exchange through specialized contacts, share product portfolios and market needs, and explore specific cooperation opportunities in the near future.

The meeting marks an important beginning, opening prospects for cooperation between Vinachem and Hayleys Aventura in chemicals and industrial materials, and contributing to stronger economic and trade ties between Vietnam and Sri Lanka.
