India’s Rubber Board statistics authentic: Chairman
Sheela Thomas, Chairman, Rubber Board in a statement pointed out that the data is sourced from cultivators, traders, processors and manufacturers.
The statement was released by the Rubber Board chief in response to allegations about the authenticity of Board data.
Quantity of rubber sheet, latex etc. has been included in the data pertaining to natural rubber. But, half the quantity of rubber with cultivators may be under various stages of processing and hence not readily available in the market.
By the end of January, 2011, stock of natural rubber in the country was pegged at 327115 tons. But only 129500 tons is available in the market, concluded the Chairman.
