Reports: Petlas to Expand Car Tyre Output
In 2005 Petlas employed 600 workers, by 2008 the company had taken on 400 more, brining the total to just under 1000 once natural wastage has been taken into account. According to the reports, although Petlas is already the largest employer in the local area, the firm will reportedly create at least 150 new jobs at the plant.
Petlas’s latest passenger car tyre is the Imperium PT 515, which features an asymmetric tread pattern, four wide circumferential grooves and a silica tread compound developed through FST technology for reduced rolling resistance.
Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) data Petlas moved up 51 places from 108th place from 159th in the assembly’s list of the top 1000 exporters in Turkey. In a year that saw most companies positions decline, Petlas reports on its website that the company is proud to be one of those that improved its ranking during 2009. Petlas, which reportedly runs production with 100 per cent Turkish capital and Turkish engineers, is planning to continue its success in 2010 and is now targeting a place in top 100 exporters.
