Vietnam’s first petrochemical product rolls out
This is also Vietnam’s first petrochemical product to be manufactured from propylene gas from the Dung Quat Oil Refinery.
The construction of the plant started in December 2007 with a total investment capital of US$234 million.
The plant covers an area of 16 hectares, and has the capacity to produce 150,000 tonnes of plastic beads per year, which are used in the automobile, construction, packaging processing and electronics industries.
It is planned that its investor (the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group) will take over the plant from contractors before August 31 this year.
It is expected that the plant’s annual turnover will be US$170 million and its profit US$15 million.
