Celebrating the 63rd Anniversary of Van Dien Fused Phosphate Fertiliser Joint Stock Company
15 October 1963 – 15 October 2026 marks 63 years of development for Van Dien Fused Phosphate Fertiliser Joint Stock Company (VAFCO). From a factory with an initial capacity of 20,000 tonnes per year, the company has progressively invested in and upgraded technology, expanded production, and developed fused phosphate and NPK fertiliser product lines serving both domestic agriculture and export markets.
Upholding Tradition, Sustaining Production Capacity
Founded on 15 October 1963, Van Dien Fused Phosphate Fertiliser Plant was established during a period of national hardship. Through each stage of development, the company’s staff and workers have overcome limitations in raw materials and energy, made technical improvements, maintained production, and supplied fertilisers for agricultural production.
During the years of war, the factory’s self-defence forces participated in protecting the production base. Contributions in both combat and labour have been recognised with distinguished awards, including the title Hero of the People's Armed Forces in 1999 and Labour Hero in the Renovation Period
The company has also been awarded the Second- and Third-class Independence Orders; First-, Second- and Third-class Labour Orders; and numerous other honours. In product and brand recognition, Van Dien Fused Phosphate Fertiliser has for many years been named Vietnamese High-Quality Goods, and received accolades such as the Vietnam Golden Rice Ear and Vietnam Gold Star awards.
Technological Innovation towards Sustainable Development
From the original capacity of 20,000 tonnes per year, Van Dien Fused Phosphate Fertiliser has continuously invested in equipment upgrades and expanded its scale, raising total designed capacity to 450,000 tonnes per year. The company’s products serve domestic agriculture and are also exported to several international markets.
In 2026, the company continued to be recognised for achievements in green economic development, innovation, and brand building. On 27 June 2026, Van Dien Fused Phosphate Fertiliser was awarded the title “Outstanding Enterprise in Green Economic Development 2026”, acknowledging investments in systems for emissions, wastewater, dust and noise treatment, and a focus on environmentally friendly production solutions.
The company was also ranked among the Top 10 Innovative and Efficient Businesses in Vietnam 2026 (VIE10) and the Top 10 “Top Brands Asia-Pacific 2026”. These accolades further affirm its efforts in innovation, brand building, and fulfilling requirements for sustainable development.
The 63rd anniversary is an occasion for Van Dien Fused Phosphate Fertiliser’s staff to reflect on its development journey, appreciate the contributions of previous generations, and identify tasks for the next stage.
