On April 19, 2026, at the Hiệp Phước Fertilizer Plant (Ho Chi Minh City), The Southern Fertilizer Joint Stock Company (SFJC) solemnly held its 50th Anniversary Celebration (April 19, 1976 – April 19, 2026) in an atmosphere of warmth, pride, and reverence shared by generations of leaders and employees.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Nguyễn Đình Khang, Member of the Central Party Committee, Minister of Ethnic Affairs and Religion, and former General Director of Vietnam National Chemical Group; Mr. Lê An Hải, President of the Vietnam Industry and Trade Union; Mr. Phùng Mạnh Ngọc, Director of the Chemical Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade); and Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Members’ Council of Vietnam National Chemical Group.

The event also welcomed former leaders of the Group; representatives of the Vietnam Chemical Society; leaders of departments and local authorities; partners and customers from home and abroad; and generations of SFJC’s executives and employees.

From Historic Mission to Foundation of Reputation

Reflecting on the 50-year journey of formation and development, Mr. Đỗ Văn Tuấn – Secretary of the Party Committee and General Director of SFJC – shared that, right after the liberation of Southern Vietnam, amid difficult conditions and outdated technology, the company was tasked with producing and supplying fertilizers for agriculture, helping restore the economy and ensure food security.

Overcoming countless hardships, generations of leaders and employees united with perseverance to lay the foundation for a reputable fertilizer enterprise in the South. From initial essential products, the company has continuously researched, improved, and developed high-quality fertilizer lines tailored to soil conditions, farming practices, and increasing environmental friendliness.

Each product bearing the SFJC brand is not only a commodity but also directly helps increase crop yields, improve farmers’ livelihoods, and contribute to the sustainable development of Vietnamese agriculture.

A highlight in the company’s progress was pioneering the market launch of granulated NPK products such as 3.3.3.18M and 5.10.3G—a technological breakthrough at the time, helping modernize and improve farming practices.

In October 1992, the Long Thành Superphosphate Plant, with a capacity of 100,000 tons/year, began operations. It became the only facility in the South producing superphosphate, meeting diverse demands—especially helping soil improvement in the Mekong Delta region.

The period 1995–1997 further marked SFJC’s strategic vision as it expanded international cooperation with Japanese and Korean partners, gaining access to advanced technology, enhancing management capacity, and gradually participating more deeply in the global value chain.

Throughout 50 years, despite economic fluctuations, the company has remained steadfast in its core value: serving agriculture with high-quality fertilizers—a value forged from the intelligence, courage, and dedication of many generations of workers.

Alongside business development, SFJC has always emphasized social responsibility, environmental protection, and the well-being of employees, building a foundation for harmonious, stable, and sustainable growth.

These efforts have been recognized by the Party and State with noble awards such as the Independence Order, Labor Order, and numerous emulation flags from the Government, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Group.

50-Year Milestone – A New Beginning

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp – Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Members’ Council of Vietnam National Chemical Group – stressed that SFJC’s 50-year milestone is not only a moment to look back on the past but also a starting point for a new phase of development, with higher requirements and greater aspirations as the Group and country enter a new growth period.

According to the Vinachem Chairman, established immediately after national reunification, SFJC was entrusted with the mission of supplying fertilizers for agriculture. From a difficult starting point, generations of leaders and employees have united, overcome hardships, and gradually built the company into a reputable fertilizer producer—always steadfast in the core value of serving agriculture with high-quality products.

He acknowledged that every product bearing the SFJC brand is not only a commodity, but also directly contributes to increasing crop yields, improving farmers’ livelihoods, ensuring food security, and enhancing the Group’s overall reputation.

Entering a new development phase, the Vinachem Chairman urged the company to focus on several core directions: improving product quality, developing eco-friendly green fertilizers; consolidating and expanding markets, perfecting the distribution system; strengthening investment in technological innovation and capacity optimization; prioritizing human resource training and planning; and continuing to care for employee welfare and build a united, dedicated workforce.

Expressing confidence in the 50-year tradition forged over generations, Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp affirmed that, with solidarity, innovation, and responsibility, SFJC will continue to develop strongly, making ever more practical contributions to the sustainable development strategy of Vietnam National Chemical Group and the country’s agriculture.

Gratitude and Moving Forward

At the ceremony, many employees were honored with Certificates of Merit from Vietnam National Chemical Group. Generations of SFJC leaders and employees with over 35 years of service were recognized for their enduring contributions to the company’s 50-year journey.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Đỗ Văn Tuấn emphasized that the success of the anniversary celebration is a new source of motivation for the road ahead. He expressed deep gratitude for the Group’s guidance and support, the dedication and commitment of generations of employees, and the partnership of customers, partners, and relevant agencies throughout the company’s development journey.

For the period 2026–2030, SFJC aims for double-digit growth in line with the Group’s orientation. Building on its 50-year tradition, the company will continue to promote technological innovation, enhance management capacity, improve product quality, develop in a green and sustainable direction, and further improve employee welfare—thereby affirming its position as one of the leading enterprises in the fertilizer industry and making practical contributions to Vietnam’s modern agriculture.

Half a century has passed, but the journey of dedication to the fields continues—with new aspirations, a renewed vision, and unwavering faith in the future.
