Hoang Thai Uyen (Southern Rubber Industry Joint Stock Company – CASUMINA): Always Striving to Do Better Every Day

In tire manufacturing, the one-bead tire building process is regarded as one of the most technically demanding stages. Every layer of rubber and every ply must be positioned with precision to ensure the tire meets quality standards before moving on to subsequent production stages. For Mr. Hoang Thai Uyen, a one-bead tire building operator at the Production Workshop of Binh Loi Rubber Enterprise, Southern Rubber Industry Joint Stock Company (CASUMINA), this has been his daily work for many years—and the area where he continually looks for ways to improve efficiency.

In the first quarter of 2026, Mr. Hoang Thai Uyen was awarded the Outstanding Employee Certificate of Merit by the Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem) under Decision No. 320/QĐ-HCVN dated June 15, 2026. The recognition reflects not a single outstanding achievement but years of consistent performance, strict compliance with technical procedures, and practical improvement initiatives developed directly on the production line.

According to his supervisors, Mr. Uyen is known for his disciplined work ethic, attention to detail, and strong sense of responsibility. He consistently completes assigned tasks on schedule, produces work that meets technical requirements, and maintains a very low rate of rework. Throughout his years at the company, he has strictly followed production procedures, complied with occupational safety regulations, and maintained an excellent safety record.

His colleagues also value his willingness to take the initiative. Whenever additional shifts are required or extra manpower is needed to support other production stages, he is always ready to step in. In his view, keeping the entire production line running smoothly is a shared responsibility. This proactive attitude has made him one of the workshop's key production workers, contributing to stable manufacturing operations.

Working with production equipment every day has enabled Mr. Uyen to identify practical issues affecting operational efficiency. Rather than accepting these limitations, he takes the time to study them, discuss possible solutions with colleagues, and develop practical improvements. The two initiatives he has implemented both originated from these day-to-day observations.

His first initiative involved redesigning the undercarriage mechanism of the one-bead tire building machine to operate at multiple speed settings. This allows operators to select the most suitable speed for each production stage, reducing operation time and improving productivity.
The second initiative involved replacing the 24V DC power supply unit of the T13 tire building machine. Previously, voltage fluctuations frequently caused unstable operation of the fabric plies, affecting production efficiency. Following the upgrade, the power supply became more stable, enabling the equipment to operate more reliably, reducing machine downtime, and minimizing operational disruptions.

Both initiatives share a common feature: they required only modest investment while effectively addressing practical production issues. Their implementation has not only shortened operating time but also improved equipment reliability, reduced production interruptions, and enhanced overall labor productivity.

In addition to his professional responsibilities, Mr. Uyen actively participates in emulation campaigns organized by the company and the trade union, including initiatives to reduce defective products, save materials, and improve labor productivity. He also regularly joins cultural, artistic, and sporting activities, contributing to a collaborative and positive workplace environment.

For Mr. Uyen, the recognition of his initiatives and the Outstanding Employee title serve as encouragement to continue improving his work. His greatest priority remains ensuring that every production shift runs smoothly, equipment operates reliably, and products meet quality standards from the very beginning. Through practical improvements made on the production line, he—together with many other frontline workers—continues to contribute to the company's operational efficiency through dedication to his everyday work.
