Foreign exchange points in the free market this morning bought USD at a common price of 25,870 VND/USD and sold at 25,950 VND/USD. This is the highest USD price in the free market ever recorded.
Compared to the previous session, the free USD price today increased by 50 VND in both buying and selling directions.
Meanwhile, the USD price in the official market tends to cool down.
The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) announced the central exchange rate on June 25 at 24,253 VND, down 9 VND compared to the previous session.
Applying a 5% margin, commercial banks are allowed to trade today with a ceiling rate of 25,465 VND/USD and a floor rate of 23,040 VND/USD.
The buying and selling rates continued to be maintained by the State Bank of Vietnam's Exchange within the trading range of 23,400-25,450 VND/USD.
The USD buying price at banks was adjusted up and down with a common margin of 2-10 VND compared to the previous session. However, banks all raised the USD selling price to the ceiling.
According to a survey at 11:15 a.m. on June 25, Vietcombank listed the USD cash buying price at 25,215 VND/USD and the selling price at 25,465 VND/USD, down 10 VND in both buying and selling compared to the morning of June 24.
This morning, VietinBank bought and sold USD at 25,235-25,465 VND/USD, unchanged in buying price and down 10 VND in selling price compared to the morning of June 24.
At the private joint stock commercial bank block, Techcombank bought USD cash at 25,234 VND/USD and sold at 25,465 VND/USD, up 5 VND in buying price but down 10 VND in selling price compared to the morning of June 24.
Meanwhile, Sacombank listed the USD price at 25,267-25,465 VND/USD (buy - sell), up 2 VND in the buying direction and down 10 VND in the selling direction compared to the morning of June 24.
The USD buying price at the bank is about 600 VND lower, while the USD selling price is also 485 VND lower than the free market.
In the world market, the USD price has decreased again after increasing continuously in the past week. The USD has slipped from its highest level in 8 weeks.
The US Dollar Index (measuring the fluctuations of the greenback against 6 major currencies) at 11:33 a.m. on June 25 (Vietnam time) was at 105.44 points, down 0.03% compared to the previous session. – VNN –
