• Vietnam’s economic growth scenarios for 2019

    International institutions have predicted high GDP growth rates for Vietnam in 2019, but do not expect them to be more than 7 percent.
    The latest report from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) predicts that Vietnam will see GDP growing by 6.7 percent in 2019 before the growth rate falls to 6.2 percent one year later.

    With growth in the global economy and world trade projected to slow, ADB forecasts that Vietnam’s economic growth will moderate but remain strong at 6.8% this year and 6.7% in 2020, according to the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

    The entire system of credit institutions handled VND204.4 trillion of bad debts (US$8.8 billion) by January 31, equivalent to 40.1 per cent of the total bad debts as defined in the National Assembly’s Resolution No. 42/2017/QH.
