Cambodia welcomes Vietnamese businesses, investors

The Cambodian parliament, government and people welcome and supportVietnamese businesses and investors to the country, said SecretaryGeneral of the Cambodian National Assembly Leng Peng Long.

LengPeng Long, who is leading a delegation of the Cambodian NA Secretariaton a current working visit to Vietnam , made the affirmation whilemeeting Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Uong Chu Luuin Hanoi on June 17.

The visit is aimed at studyingexperiences from the National Assembly of Vietnam in the application ofinformation technology and the organisation of the General Assembly ofASEAN Inter-parliamentary Assembly (AIPA).

He expressed thanks tothe Vietnamese State and people for helping Cambodian peopleescape from the Pol Pot genocide in the past and in nationalconstruction and development at present.

He stressed thatmaintaining and developing the traditional friendship and comprehensivecooperation between Cambodia and Vietnam is important to thestability and development of both countries.

NA Deputy ChairmanLuu expressed his pleasure at the fine development of relations betweenthe two parliaments in recent years. The two sides have regularlyexchanged delegates and boosted cooperation in both bilateral andmultilateral frameworks.

He expressed his wish that the twoparliaments would continue to implement well signed agreements and askedthe Cambodian NA to actively contribute and cooperate with theVietnamese NA as Chair of the AIPA 31.

He expressed his beliefthat the Vietnam-Cambodia ties would continue to develop following themotto of good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensivecooperation and long-lasting development.

The Cambodiandelegation began its visit on June 16 and will leave Vietnam on June20./.
