Cuba, Vietnam to further economic ties

Cuba and Vietnam need to promote the exchange of experiences ineconomic development and socialist construction, said Cuban FirstVice-President of the Council of State and Council of Ministers JoséRamón Marchado Ventura.

At a reception given toConstruction Minister Nguyen Hong Quan in Havana on September 24, theFirst Vice President warmly welcomed the Vietnamese delegation’s visitto Cuba to attend the 28 th session of the Vietnam-CubaInter-governmental Committee for Economic, Scientific and TechnologicalCooperation.

He highlighted the results of the sessionas a practical contribution to strengthening mutual understanding,solidarity, friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

MinisterQuan, who is head of the Vietnam-Cuba Cooperation Sub-committee,expressed the determination to cooperate and support Cuba in allfields, especially its rice cultural projects to serve the government’sfood security programme.

While in Cuba, Minister Quan hadworking sessions with Vice President of the Cuban Council of StateRamiro Valdes, Vice President of the Cuban Council of Ministers RicardoCabrisas and the Ministers of Foreign Trade and Investment, Tourism,Agriculture, Construction, and Information Science and Communication./.
