Vietnam’s economy grew more than 5 percent in the second quarter, reflecting its resilience in the face of slowing export demand and mounting global risks.

Gross domestic product rose 5.6 percent from a year earlier, the General Statistics Office said in a statement in Hanoi on Tuesday. That compares with a previously reported 5.46 percent in the first quarter.

The economy expanded 5.52 percent in the first half of the year, lower than the 5.8 percent median estimate of four economists in a Bloomberg News survey.
