Vietnam trademarks compete for Golden Star prize

As many as 200 Vietnamese trademarks and products are competing for the Vietnamese Golden Star prize 2010 and the chance to promote their trademarks on both domestic and international markets.

The awards ceremony will take place in Ho Chi Minh City on September 2 when the nation is celebrating the National Day.

The Vietnamese Young Entrepreneurs Association Vice President, Nguyen Manh Cuong, said at a press briefing in Hanoi on August 25 that there will other events to promote Vietnamese trademarks along with the awards ceremony such as a “Vietnamese Golden Star” parade for children in difficult circumstances and a flower-decorated convoy marching named “Vietnamese Golden Star-Vietnamese Trademark Promotion”.

Young people will have a chance to talk with young businesspeople during the event through a seminar.

The prize has been an annual event since 2003 and aims to promote Vietnamese trademarks on both domestic and international markets. It is one of leading trademark promotion campaigns in Vietnam .

So far, 1,127 trademarks and products have won the prize.

Many of the prize winners have managed to increase their revenues between 150 and 200 percent as well as expand exports and take a firm foothold on foreign markets./.
