Vietnam wants to further ties with Czech Republic

Vietnam wishes the Czech Republic, particularly Prague to expandcooperation with Vietnam, especially in areas of their strengths, inorder to bringing bilateral ties to a new height.

State President Nguyen Minh Triet expressed his desire while receiving Prague Mayor Pavel Ben in Hanoi on Oct. 9.

ThePrague Mayor and a delegation of the city are in Hanoi to attendcelebrations of the 1,000 th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.

PresidentTriet expressed thanks to the Czech Republic for great assistanceto Vietnam during the struggle for national liberation in the pastand national construction and development at present.

He alsothanked the Czech Government and the Prague Mayor for creatingfavourable conditions for the Vietnamese community living there.

Hesaid that relations between Vietnam and the Czech Republic haveseen fine development in many fields. The two countries’ preparationsfor opening a direct air route from Hanoi to Prague wouldcontribute to boosting bilateral cooperation.

Mayor Pavel Bencongratulated Vietnam on the great anniversary of the capital cityand achievements in socio-economic development in recent years.

Hesaid though geographical distance, Prague and Hanoi are bothancient and have tradition of cultures. In Prague has a small Hanoi, where the Vietnamese community gained successes in business. Thesuccesses proved the development in Vietnam , pledging to give bestconditions to Vietnamese citizens in Prague .

The Prague Mayoralso said that his city has potentials in culture, education and energyas well as good experiences in urban management. Apart from tradeand investment cooperation, Prague is ready to help Vietnam ,especially Hanoi in areas of its strength./.
