Vinachem and Vietnam Railways Strengthen Coordination in the Transport of Apatite, Fertilisers, and Chemicals
On 21 August 2026 in Hanoi, the Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem) and Vietnam Railways Corporation held a conference to review their joint efforts in transporting apatite ore, fertilisers, and chemicals by rail over the first half of the year, and to agree on solutions for the remainder of 2026.
Attending the conference were Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Tú, General Director of Vinachem; Mr. Hoàng Gia Khánh, General Director of Vietnam Railways; the Railway Transport Steering Committee, trade union leaders from both Groups, and representatives from relevant units.

Enhancing Coordination in the Transport of Raw Materials and Products
In his address, Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Tú, General Director of Vinachem, shared that in the first seven months of 2026, the Group continued to pursue double-digit growth, achieving a rate of 10.8%. Revenue reached VND 45,600 billion, up 7.8% year-on-year; profit reached VND 4,216 billion, an increase of 63% compared to the same period in 2025.
Despite these results, Vinachem’s production and business activities still face challenges, especially in the supply of apatite ore and the need for efficient transport of raw materials and products.
Given these conditions, cooperation with the railway sector and proactively planning the transport of apatite, fertilisers, and chemical products are vital for the Group’s operations in the months ahead.

Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Tú recommended that both parties continue to exchange information, promptly resolve any difficulties in the transport process, enhance the efficiency of railway logistics, secure raw materials for production, and meet Vinachem’s product delivery requirements.
For Vietnam Railways, Mr. Hoàng Gia Khánh, General Director, affirmed that, although the Group has recently adopted a new operating model, it considers cooperation with Vinachem a key task, guided by the principle of mutual benefit and support for the successful delivery of production and business objectives.
Mr. Hoàng Gia Khánh shared that the Group would direct its joint stock rail transport companies to review and adjust pricing policies for Vinachem, establish appropriate and stable price frameworks, and balance rates for both directions of carriage, thereby facilitating the movement of chemical products by rail.

Promoting Mutual Use of Products and Services
A matter of mutual interest is the increased use of each other's products and services, thus enhancing cooperation between units.
With regard to technical rubber products, Mr. Hoàng Gia Khánh requested that railway units coordinate with Da Nang Rubber Joint Stock Company to research, trial, and introduce these products into railway operations.

Da Nang Rubber Joint Stock Company has now completed the design of level crossing pads and station buffers, produced prototypes, and is working with railway units in the Da Nang area to conduct trials.
The prototype is scheduled for completion in October 2026; inspection and quality assessment are planned for November 2026; and installation and field trials on the Da Nang rail section will take place in December 2026.
These practical trials will provide the basis for assessing product quality, technical compliance, and further refinement before full adoption.

The two sides also discussed boosting transactions via VinachemMart, which can be implemented immediately to increase product consumption and business exchanges between units.
Mr. Hoàng Gia Khánh requested that any ready-to-implement content be actioned without delay. Vietnam Railways will focus its investment and collaborate to resolve Vinachem’s specific recommendations.
For new products under research and trial, the Group will help finalise technical standards, norms, and pricing so that products can be used once all requirements are met, especially for activities funded by the State.
Focusing on Agreed Priorities
At the conference, the President of the Vietnam Railway Union proposed developing a direct working programme with the Chemical Industry Union and the Chemical Trade and Service Centre to boost cooperation and strengthen links between both parties’ units.

Both sides agreed to maintain direct communication, address emerging issues promptly, and rigorously implement agreed initiatives.
In the next six months, they will continue to resolve transport challenges, review pricing policies, increase transport volumes, and promote mutual use of products and services. Technical rubber products currently under research and trial will be further developed, quality-assured, and gradually introduced when conditions permit.

The consensus reached at the conference forms the foundation for Vinachem and Vietnam Railways to continue their close collaboration, leverage each other’s strengths, enhance transport efficiency, and broaden cooperation, contributing to the achievement of production and business targets in 2026 and beyond.
