55-year anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam Institute of Industrial Chemistry (VIIC)

In the morning Dec 10, Vietnam Institute of Industrial Chemistry has celebrated 55th anniversary of the establishment and received The Second Independence Medal.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Mai Ngoc Chuc - Director- said: The forerunner of the Institute of Vietnam Institute of Industrial Chemistry is the Laboratory of Vietnam Ministry of Industry and Trade, established on the basis of take over the laboratory of the Department of Indochina old mine in 1955. Spent 55 years building and growing, until now, VIIC has become one of the largest science centers, in addition to research duties, the institute also promote scientific and technological services, bringing the scientific and technological products become commodities. Institute has successful implementation of many research topics in science of high economic value such as the project "Research and production Lao Cai apatite ore type III flotation reagents with only 70% the cost of imports, benefiting Vietnam Apatite Company billions each year ...

In the health sector, Institute has successfully extracted artemisinin from the plant flowers wear gold bars and sell DHA synthesis, artesunate, artamete to produce anti-malaria drugs. This work was awarded the State Prize of Ho Chi Minh. Besides, Institute also perform consulting tasks for Vietnam National Chemical Group and other units outside the sector of science and technology, the evaluation of scientific projects.

Appreciate the efforts and achievements of VIIC for 55 years, The collective of VIIC was honored to receive The Second Independence Medal .Prof. Dr. Mai Ngoc Chuc, Director of VIIC awarded the Second Labor Medal.

Also at the ceremony took place the signing of two memoranda of cooperation between the Vietnam Institute of Industrial Chemistry and Technology Research Institute of Korea and National University Korea. The signing of the minutes between the two parties to promote the expansion of cooperative research on the chemical industry in particular science and technology in general between the two sides.
