28 Nov 2010, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai has ordered start-up constructing the revamping - expanding Habac nitrogenous fertilizer plant project in Tho Xuong precinct - Bac Giang city- Bac Giang province.

The project of revamping - expanding Habac nitrogenous fertilizer plant will increase the capacity up to 500 thousand tons of ureaper year. Investor isHa Bac Nitrogenous Fertilizer and Chemical Limited Company (HANICHEMCO) of Vietnam National Chemical Group (VINACHEM).

The Project by contractor in partnership by Ngu Hoan Science and China Machine Import & Export Corporation and Chemical Engineering Joint Stock Corporation (CECO) are general contractor. The project will be completed after 42 months from 11/2010

This project using Shell’s coal gasification technology; Linder’s gas purification technology ; Topsoe’s NH3 synthesis technology and Snamprogetti’s urea technology. These are all advanced technologies, today's most modern and environmentally friendly.

Complete project will contribute to increase the supply of urea fertilizer for agricultural production in our country and contributing to actively agricultural materials to develop production and ensure national food security.
