Consumer Reports tested thousands of household items, including various cleaning products, to compare products for effectiveness and price, and listed the best and worst.
"Faced with all the options on store shelves these days, even choosing something as simple as toilet paper can be a nuisance," said Celia Kuperszmid Lehrman, deputy home editor for Consumer Reports. May`s issue of the magazine, on newsstands beginning today, features the list of best and worst household products.
Among the cleaners and supplies that Consumer Reports recommends and ones it found to be duds are:
Best laundry detergent: Tide 2X Ultra with Color Clean Bleach Alternative was best at washing out stains and cost about 32 cents per load of wash.
